​Join the Centershot Training family with the basics.  We will cover - introductory range session where you'll receive professional guidance on safe firearm handling and shooting practices.  Discover the excitement of a thrilling new sport and enjoy a new sense of accomplishment unlike any other.  This event will cover shooting with handguns only.

 

Due to classes being limited in size our policy is no show, no call, no refund. If you become unable to attend the scheduled class, contact us ahead of time and we will do our best to get you rescheduled to the next available class.

New Shooter Seminar - 1 Hour

  • Best For: Those who don't know where to start. 

  • The Experience: A one hour session that covers a broad view of firearms, ammunition, safe storage, and what to expect if you go to a range.

  • You will walk away with a plan of action to continue your firearms journey!

  • Cost: $15

NSSF First Shot Class

  • Best For: Those who want a condensed introduction to pistol safety, shooting techniques, and safely make their first shots.

  • The Experience: A solid introduction to firearms safety with 2 hours in the classroom and 1 hour on the range.

  • Cost: $60

NRA Basics of Pistol

  • Best For: Those wanting a thorough introduction to firearms, ammunition and the fundamentals of pistol shooting, or those preparing for a CPL class.

  • The Experience: A comprehensive 8–9 hour deep dive. The majority of this class is hands-on learning proper fundamentals in the safety of the classroom, transitioning to 3 hours of live fire on the range.  Then we wrap up learning how to clean and maintain our pistol.

  • Includes: 30-Day Range Membership, NRA Handbook, Certificate, and Lunch (full-day sessions).

  • Cost: $140

What to Bring for First Shot's or Basic Pistol Class

  • Your Pistol: Must be cased and unloaded. (Rentals available for $5 if you don't own one).

  • Ammo: 50 - 100 rounds (available for purchase on-site).

  • Protection: Eye and ear protection (provided for students if you don't have your own).

  • Note: Use of our .22 LR training pistols is FREE for students.

NSSF First Shot details

NSSF First Shot Class

Centershot Gun Range is proud to offer the NSSF FIRST Steps Pistol course which is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type.

​

​This class is designed to orient beginners to one specific pistol.  Safe handling skills, shooting fundamentals, ammunition malfunctions, & more.

​

Class is 3 hours which is approximately 2 hours in the classroom & 1 hour on the range.

What to bring:

​

​Your pistol - in a case, unloaded.   (see note below if you don't have a pistol)

​

  • 50 rounds of ammunition

  • Pen & Paper for notes (optional)

Range offers:

  • Use of our rimfire training pistols free of charge.  Students must bring, or purchase, 50 rounds of ".22 LR" rimfire ammunition.

  • Firearm rental for $5 - if you'd like to shoot pistols other than our training guns.

  • Vending Machines for snacks & drinks

NRA Basics details

The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely.

​

Through this course, the students will learn about firearm safety, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, pistol shooting fundamentals, adjusting their sights (sighting in), shooting positions, proper marksmanship fundamentals, and pistol shooting activities they can do on their own to improve their skills into the future.

The majority of this class is hands on even in the classroom.

Approximately 3 hours on the range!  We finish the day learning the proper way to clean & maintain your pistol so you go home with a clean firearm.

​

This is the most thorough Basic Pistol Course available. If you’re new to pistol shooting, want to build a foundation for better marksmanship, or want to confidently qualify for your concealed pistol class- this will get you there!  Every level shooter will learn better marksmanship in this class.

  • Pen & Paper for notes (optional)

  • Firearm rental for $5 - if you'd like to shoot pistols other than our training guns.

  • Vending Machines for snacks & drinks​

  • 30 day membership to Centershot Gun Range.

  • NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Handbook

  • NRA Course Completion Certificate

  • Pistols for student use (if desired) - .22LR target model pistols.
